Aberdeen Apartment Accommodation for VisitScotland Expo 2020 – Welcoming VisitScotland Expo to Aberdeen’s P&J Live on 1-2 April is fantastic for the Granite City. Skene House hopes it goes well, and we would encourage any delegates to spend a little time in the city, and explore Aberdeen and shire if they possibly can. We have lots of ideas and inspiration to share below.
In terms of accommodation, Skene House offers something a little different, combining the best of apartment living with the benefits of self-catering, and the added luxury of a hotel stay.
We don’t provide mere hotel rooms. Our Rosemount property has forty-six 1, 2, and 3 bedroom affordable luxury serviced apartments.
Solo delegates can book a one bedroom apartment, with the indulgence of their own fully furnished kitchen and living room, with ample room to relax or work. Strong wifi throughout ensures guests can chill or work as required – uploading images of the Expo to social media channels.
Alternatively, a group could book a three bedroom apartment, knowing that they have their own private bedroom, and the shared facilities of a kitchen and living room. It’s a home from home.
For a more West End location, Skene House Holburn offers thirty-five 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites, each with a separate living and dining room, and kitchen, available nightly.
As business travellers ourselves, we know what little extras make all the difference.
-Serviced Apartments – Leave the housework at home. Staying in an apartment often means cleaning up after yourself. Whilst Skene House is certainly homely we’ve removed the chores. Our suites and apartments are serviced every day so you can focus on other things.
-Guest Lounges. Our smart lounges are an excellent meeting point before heading off to the Expo or for gathering a group before heading off for dinner and drinks. It’s an excellent space for holding informal meetings. Ample power points and strong wifi ensure guests can work as required, whilst enjoying complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits.
-Honesty Bar – Skene House Holburn is home to a welcoming Honesty Bar. Raise a glass to the Expo. Slainte!
-Breakfast – Whilst many guests whip up their favourite breakfasts within the privacy of their own kitchen. Breakfast can be easily booked if you’d prefer a B&B.
-Meeting Rooms – If you need to hold your own meeting in Aberdeen, then consider the smart Skene House facilities. We offer a mix of meeting rooms so read more about our Atrium rooms and our professional yet quirky Bat Cave here.
The Skene House properties are ideally situated in Aberdeen city centre. They are a short walk from the railway station, ferry terminal, and a short taxi ride from the airport. They are also within walking distance of many of Aberdeen’s finest restaurants and bars.
We also offer free city centre parking, so if you are driving to and from the Expo, parking is not a concern or a stress at the end of the day.
Safety – Skene House properties are situated in two city central locations, on brightly lit streets, with a welcoming reception manned 24 hours a day. Whatever time of day or night, you can walk straight in the door, rather than fumble with keys in the darkness.
Sightseeing – If you can find an opportunity to explore the Granite City and beyond, then read on. ‘Skene and Heard’ is full of helpful advice for all our Aberdeen visitors. Read our guide to Sightseeing in Aberdeen, take in our Top 20 Castles here, and hit the coast with our Guide to Aberdeen Beachlife here.
Family business – Skene House has over 40 years experience of providing quality accommodation in Aberdeen. Our founder, Charles Skene, received an CBE in 2018 for services to business and enterprise promotion. We’re passionate about excellent service, and we’re dedicated to travel and tourism in the North East of Scotland. We would love to welcome you to Skene House.
We know the best places to go in Aberdeen, so book a table now, to dine at your leisure. All of these restaurants are within walking distance of Skene House properties.
-Meat eaters reserve a seat at Vovem or Miller & Carter, both on Union Street.
-For quality cuisine try Moonfish Café on Correction Wynd, Café 52 on the Green or Yatai on Justice Mill Lane.
-Vegans and Vegetarians should consider Bonobo on Skene Street, Food Story on Thistle Street and Bio Café on Rosemount Viaduct.
-For vino, gin and charcuterie reserve a table at Grape & Grain on Thistle Street. An elegant bar where you can hear yourself think and hold conversation.
-If you love craft beer you’ve come to the right city. Home of Brewdog (check out the original bar on the Gallowgate), Fierce on Exchequer Row and six°north on Littlejohn Street, read up about the best beer experiences here.
-For Exclusive Use rooms consider dining at Howies on Chapel Street, or go historic at the Gordon Highlanders Museum on Viewfield Road. Experience piping upon arrival, use of historic regimental silver, fine dining and a dram of Gordon Highlanders whisky. (A taxi would be required to visit the Gordon Highlanders Museum. Our reception team will happily book transport for your party.)
Two representatives from Skene House will be visiting the Expo and hoping to meet and network with any attendees who’d be interested in our offering. Enjoy VisitScotland Expo, and enjoy Aberdeen. You’d be an April Fool to stay anywhere else…
