It’s a shame that the 2020 festival can’t go ahead, but we can still take some time to celebrate the art Nuart has brought to our city.

What is Nuart?

Nuart is a very cool, street art project. It originated in Stavanger, Norway, and Aberdeen is the only international partner.

Once a year blank walls and spaces around the city are given a complete makeover, transformed by international street artists into something new, challenging and engaging. Nuart leaves a permanent legacy within the city, creating a cultural buzz and encouraging walking tours linking the artworks together.

Skene House Rosemount and its neighbours now boast a world class piece of public art by Anders Gjennestad (aka Strøk). Born in Norway, and living in Berlin, Strøk is a renowned stencil artist who creates photorealistic images of characters who appear to defy gravity. The wall now features flying, falling figures, tumbling through time and space. You have to see it to believe it. Do let us know what you think – we’d love to see your pictures on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, simply tag us and we’ll take a peak.
