Schools out for the Tattie Holidays 2019! Skene House offers fantastic family friendly accommodation in the heart of the city, but we’ve got a cracking October Half Term Offer available too. Wee ones even get a toy! We’re talking 25% off our two or three bedroom apartments, for stays of two nights or longer.
Our apartments are ideal for families. Rather than cramming into one hotel room, at Skene House the kids have their own bedroom. No more hanging out in the dark, or creeping around trying to get the kids to sleep.
Each apartment has a fully furnished kitchen so you can feed the kids their favourite meals, chill or heat their milk, dish up a takeaway, or perhaps store some drinks for mum and dad in the fridge. Each apartment also has its own living room, so there’s space to hang out as a family. Once the kids are asleep, the adults can chill in the lounge. Result!
Our free, super strong wifi keeps the whole family connected and entertained. Skene House offers free laundries for our guests so you can travel light, or simply ring ahead to request a washer/drier in your apartment. Travel cots and high chairs are available free of charge, and Skene House has free, city centre parking so you can throw what you need in the car, stress free. If you need something for your family, we’ve generally thought of it. Anything exta, please just ask and we’ll see what we can do.
Comfortable as the apartments are, you don’t have to stay in. Our offer runs from 18 October to 4 November, and there’s lots for families to get up to in Aberdeen.
Visit the new P&J Live Arena for Disney On Ice: 100 Years Of Magic, running till 3 November 2019. Fifty Disney characters take to the ice, with an appearance from Forky from Toy Story 4 who gets his skates on with Buzz, Woody and Bo Peep. Of course the cast of Frozen – Anna, Elsa and Olaf – are in their element on the ice.
Artie’s Halloween Singing Kettle Singalong takes to the stage on Sunday 27 October at Aberdeen Arts Centre. Over at the Tivoli the Little Mix Experience tribute band will be pumping out hits such as Shout Out to my Ex and Black Magic. For those popping down to Aberdeen’s Maritime Museum to discover the history of the city’s links to the sea – think whaling, ship building, fishing and oil – then look out for a quirky Punch & Judy exhibition exploring the notorious children’s puppets, ‘That’s The Way To Do It! Punch and Judy Through the Ages’.
Aberdeen’s Sound Festival is running over the October holidays. Consider the family friendly double bill of music, Runeruin, created by and for young people. Told through sound and moving pictures, it tells the story of young adventurer, Margaret Burns, who explores the mythical island of Runeruin. (Suitable for ages 3-11 years.)
If you do stay at Skene House till 5 November one of the biggest dates in the diary is Bonfire Night. In Aberdeen the beach is the place to head for fireworks and more. Charity firewalks and catering start from 6.30pm and end at 9.00pm. [Disabled parking can be found at Urquhart Road and there will be park and rides from Kingswells, Bridge of Don and Calder Park.]
Stonehaven (15 miles south of Aberdeen) is hosting its bonfire night on Saturday 3 November at Mineralwell Park. Or perhaps nip inland to Banchory (20 miles west) for their fiery celebration on 2 November.
After Catherine Wheels and sparklers, head back to Skene House for complimentary popping candy, which we’ll be popping over the Bonfire Night weekend. Our receptionists will welcome you back from the cold into the warmth of Skene House, with some treats for all the family. It’s all about making memories…
