What is the first thing you do when researching your next city break?…ask friends? check Facebook? what’s trending on Instagram? most of you will probably consult TripAdvisor too. This series of postcards from our nearest and dearest are designed to help you make the most of your trip to Aberdeen whether you’re here for business or leisure.
Our first ‘postcard’ is from our friend Charly, a project engineer based in Westhill.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Bonjour! I relocated to Aberdeen 3 years ago to work for a French oil company. I was introduced to Skene House by my fiancée who works for the company and my family have enjoyed staying in the suites on many occasions. It’s comforting for me to know that they’ve got such a welcoming and friendly place to stay when they visit.
What do you like to write home about?
I FaceTime my family and friends in France and Canada at least once a week and I’m always regaling stories of my adventures in the great Scottish outdoors. I love the fact that every weekend I can experience nature, the wild landscape is often breathtaking. Last weekend I hiked Glen Tanar on Saturday and played golf on Sunday. In winter I love to drive to Lecht and Glenshee to ski. Nothing beats the fresh air and stunning scenery that can be found around Aberdeen.
If you could recommend one place to enjoy on a rainy day where would it be?
Transition Extreme is a great for indoor climbing and close to the beach.
